Book Covers & Concrete Poetry
Karin Boye's staircase on Skeppargatan is adorned with a checkered floor which became the starting point for this project. I wanted to explore the relationship between the handmade and the geometric, resulting in a handwritten title that’s been pixelated. The title is complemented by a type-
writer font that’s spaced to fit into the grid. On the inside of the covers are illustrations coordinating with the title of the book.
In the insert, I interpret Boye in concrete poetry. The aim of the project is to make her legacy feel relevant again. Mockups felt limiting, so I bound the books myself.
